A blast from the past - render from a few years ago of a pencil sketch from 1981! Some people said it looks as though it is on ice . . . I never did finish the water!

Browsing in charity shop a couple of days a go -one of the books I bought contained this image. It is in a village called Carennac in the Dordogne. I love it -prime example of the type of architecture that influences my fantasy castle illustrations. The book is Villages of France by Sullam, Waite and Ardagh: pub. Weidenfield and Nicholson, 1988.

A few years ago I did this woodpecker illustration when I worked at the OU. It has been copied in books many times -I don't mind, I was paid an indecent amount hehe.

Another WIP -but this is one of a series. Every time I start looking at the perspective or detail I end up with yet another version. One day I will finish at least one of them. Thanks for looking.

Several requests to see pencil drawing of The Citadel -so be it. Now starting it again . . . cat strolled across, sat on the paper to wash herself!
