Firstly, thanks to CC, Deb and Nicholay for joining my followers; much appreciated.
I have recently been looking at my ideas for online shops, showcase websites, Blogger, FB, etc. Following suggestions from other peoples blogs and useful info from sites such as Handmadeology I have been looking at branding as my stuff seems to be all over the place.
My new Etsy shop should be open soon, fingers crossed. I have removed a lot of my work from various sites and forums because of copying -stick a border on it and claim it as new. Bloody cheek. As flash-based web images can't be copied in the same manner I am going to use Wix., recently they released a new app for webpages on cellphones which covers a number of users ( I hope).
Now for the dilemna -which of these logos do you like?
Or, something else? Comments please or email me at hayden.otton@hotmail.com. Thank you

You know, I think the simple red block of colour for the dragon may work best. You may want to try all of them out as profile icons to see how they work on a small scale and against different backgrounds etc =D
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the two on the bottom, with the black. Really eye catching. Good luck to you :)
ReplyDeleteI like the bottom three. The white background with red dragon is my favorite... or maybe the bottom one. But try to consider exactly where your logo might end up down the road... would you make a tee shirt? Stationery or letterhead? Business cards? These things might make you think one is better than another...
ReplyDeleteThe red outline on black is my favorite. I also agree that you need to try them out on letterhead, business cards, etc. You may find that the solid red image on white is a bit more versatile.
ReplyDeleteI like the 2nd from botton - black background and red outline.
ReplyDeleteMiss Kanga is likin the bottom dragon :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the detail of the outlines to the solid block of color. Any of the "clear" outlines work for me.
ReplyDeleteThe solid fill red dragon on a white background is my favorite, and stands out the most clearly. It could work on a black background (web page) if you use a white or red line border at the edge as well!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your blue-tile castle sketch is one of the several OOAK artworks in my daughter's fantasy-themed bedroom, and we are still enjoying it daily!
For a logo, I like the solid red (center option). Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI would choose the last one.. red outline on black.. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteStunning artwork by the way.
ReplyDeleteThe red outline with the black background is my favorite. I think it would look stunning on a black business card/web site with White lettering. For letter head i would think the solid red dragon with the white background would be best. Best of luck with your business endeavors.
Personally I think the White background and the red filled in dragon is the most eye grabbing one, but i do like the look of the red outlined dragon and the back black ground.
ReplyDeleteI really like #3, the white background with filled in red dragon. It's very eye catching. You did a great job on all of them :)
ReplyDeleteI like the middle two Hayden, the red block dragon & then the black and red, that one is really eye catching! Maybe if you could combine the two, have a block dragon with red and black...
ReplyDeleteI think the red dragon on white background works really well, it is very distinctive. However you should choose something that you feel reflects you as a person and your business. It can be very difficult, I have been struggling with the same branding issues but think I'm now happy with the direction I've gone. Go with your gut instinct it is usually right.
ReplyDeleteI like the 2nd. from the bottom best. It is very clear, no "distractions"
ReplyDeleteWoW!!! I like all of them but my favorite ones is the last two.
ReplyDeleteI like the black with red outline and white dragon. I am sorry so many people copy artwork. I still enjoy seeing your artwork and check in when I can.
ReplyDeleteI like the first, but i dont like the square, is the first with a cycle instead of a square possible? Axinja
ReplyDeletePersonally I like the outlines the best. Can you do either a red or black outline with a transparent background? Or the circle background if you have to have a background color would be nice. But all of them could be used in different settings. I liked someone's idea above of the red outline on a black business card. It would be very striking. You could even do a two-sided business card, black with the red outline on one side and traditional white with the red or black outline or solid on the other. Would make your business cards very memorable.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with comments above; your art is very beautiful.
I would like to see one with a red background with the white dragon filled in with black. I also like the ones where the dragon isn't all filled in but you can see the details of the wings and such.
ReplyDeleteHi hayden, I like them all but my fav is the bottom one with the white red outline on black.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it all :)

The 3rd one and the last one really caught my eye!

Gorgeous images. Love all of them. Maybe the fact that I am a fantasy freak would do it. Keep up the great work
ReplyDeleteThe two I like best are the white background one and the last one. Also, have you tried a white background with detail in the wings? That could look cool, too.

I like the 4th one down, the red linework on the black background.
ReplyDeleteI like the one with black back ground and red drawing!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the third and fourth. Good luck choosing.
ReplyDeleteI like the solid red dragon on the white background. It appeals to me the most, as there is a balance of positive and negative space.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait till you get on Etsy! I love the castles
